Your teeth may simply need whitening and re-contouring to improve their shade and shape. Sometimes no drill veneer or white fillings may be necessary to improve the cosmetics of the teeth.
We will always try to provide the best cosmetic results and at the same time, try our best to remove none or very little tooth tissue. Keeping as much good tooth tissue as possible is very important to us as no dental material is as good as your own healthy tooth tissue.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening or bleaching is a perfect solution for whitening your stained, yellow or dull teeth. Stains from tobacco use, pan chewing, coffee, tea, cola or just plain yellow teeth can be reduced dramatically in just about an hour by bleaching. Today when time is very precious to all of us, 60 minutes is all it is needed for you to spare for teeth whitening.
Teeth whitening or Bleaching is a procedure wherein your teeth are whitened using a peroxide based compounds (gels). Your gums and lips are protected using special barriers. Once the gel is applied on your teeth, they are then exposed to a powerful specially designed light. The end result is a set of sparkling white teeth which are few shades lighter and whiter! The whole procedure took an hour to complete!!
It's important to bear in mind that bleaching doesn't always result in the whiteness that you expected. The results vary from person to person and depend on the shade of your teeth before bleaching. The whitening effects of different bleaching methods can last for a few years. To keep your teeth looking their best, we recommend flossing, brushing twice daily
Teeth whitening is an absolutely safe procedure & does no have any side effects. Occasionally it causes slight transient sensitivity in the teeth, if it happens we recommend you to use desensitizing toothpaste and Mouthwashes.

Dental Veneers
Veneers are extremely thin shells of artificial material that are made to fit over the front side of a patients teeth and look like natural teeth. Veneers can be used to mask stains, chipped, worn, misshapen or slightly crooked teeth or gaps or spaces between teeth. Veneers may be made from porcelain or composite resin material.
Compared to traditional caps Laminates present minimally invasive technique since they require only a limited dental preparation and less removal of tooth enamel
For those patients looking for cosmetic dentistry, we can provide two types of dental veneers:
1. No tooth drilling Composite Veneers made chairside in one visit. Composite Veneers are directly bonded over the teeth. Tooth coloured composite materials are placed over the tooth surface, changed to desired shape and hardened by a powerful light. They are polished in the mouth itself. This is an immediate and quick way to fix malaligned/malformed teeth in a single sitting.
2. The High Strength and Highly aesthetic Porcelain Veneers. Porcelain Veneers typically require atleast two visits, one to prepare the teeth and make impressions and second to bond the veneers to the teeth. Each of these appointments take between one to two weeks .During evaluation, factors like sex, age, profession, personality, skin tone, eye colour, facial features and of course your expectations are considered.
Once bonded the porcelain laminate veneers become an integral part of your tooth and are as strong as your natural teeth which generally require no special care. Porcelain veneers are highly resistant to staining such as by coffee, tea or smoking and last for many years.
Should ceramic veneers and crowns be necessary, we will provide you with temporary veneers and crowns whilst your veneers and crowns are made by the lab. We only use expert and experienced lab technicians to provide you with highly aesthetic results.
Tooth Contouring and Reshaping
Patients who suffer from chipped or cracked teeth are the candidates for tooth contouring and reshaping treatment. This method of cosmetic dentistry could significantly increase a patient's confidence by resulting in a beautiful smile.
To straighten severely malaligned and overlapping teeth, patients are advised to get orthodontic treatment (Braces) at our clinic. In more minor cases, dental contouring and reshaping can be used as an alternative to braces to straighten misaligned teeth in a single visit.
Patients could also request alterations to the length, shape or position of their teeth in order to improve their appearance. Where an increase in tooth length is desired, composite bonding can be used to increase tooth length without any damage to the underlying tooth.

White fillings
Tooth coloured fillings or cosmetic restorations are fast gaining popularity over their silver counterparts. Amalgam restorations or silver fillings, as they are commonly known, are now a thing of the past, with every aesthetic conscious person asking for the cosmetic ones...
Silver (amalgam) fillings tend to darken over a period of time. They also have a tendency to corrode and leak over time, thereby increasing chances of secondary decay.
Cosmetic (tooth coloured) fillings, on the other hand are not only more aesthetic but they also require less amount of tooth cutting. Also, since they bond to the tooth structure, chances of secondary decays are reduced to a great extent. Being available in a variety of shades the tooth coloured restorations blend in beautifully with the adjacent tooth structure, looking absolutely natural.
At The Family Dental Center, we use a wide range of the time and tried products of composites (tooth coloured fillings) available and used all over the world . This soft material is added to prepared cavity in layers and is sculpted, following the contours of your natural tooth. It is then cured (hardened) by a high intensity blue light. The material hardens immediately and after a little polishing you walk out of the clinic and are free to eat, drink whatever you want, immediately.
